Did you know we offer acupuncture for pets at County Vets in Alsager?
Acupuncture is performed by Elspeth Riley BVMS MRCVS, and is used for the management of acute and chronic pain with positive results. Conditions we treat regularly include:
- Hip/elbow dysplasia
- Back injuries
The treatments involve an initial consultation lasting around 45 minutes. In this time a full history will be taken and your pet examined. This, along with any diagnostics and treatment already performed by your regular vet, will be used to work out a treatment plan for your pet. You will be able to remain with your pet while treatment is carried out. Follow up consultations may vary in length but are generally between 20 – 30 minutes.
Acupuncture is given as course of treatment, usually weekly for four weeks, and then further sessions depending on how your pet responds to treatment. Most pets tolerate this well with the majority of patients relaxed, and sometimes falling asleep during treatment.
Please see our acupuncture page for more information, or contact the practice to speak to one of our team members on 01270 882112.
A testimonial from one of our clients read:
“I can highly recommend the acupuncture treatment that Elspeth performs at the practice. She is very knowledgeable and skilled in its use and it has helped to keep our little Poppy as pain free and comfortable as possible in her senior years. We are delighted that Poppy is able to go for walks and bumble about happily without the soreness and stiffness that she was experiencing previously.”
